Peter thats the same here for me. I last received a Legend back early in 2008. My membership renewal came in July 2007 stating that it had lapsed and due to some computer problem I had not been informed, so I had to renew. Due to moving house I never got around to doing so. Then the begining of last year I rejoined including the �5 extra as a new member I received 1 copy of Legend and then nothing I then received another letter stating membership had lapsed again. I tried a couple of time to contact the club secretary but no answer so as of yet I am no longer a member even though I did actually pay. Maybe it is a similar scenario for you.

I have a mint 80" chassis for sale, it is a 1951 with wide front springs, it
had a couple of patches butt welded in on the two bulkhead out riggers
(hardly visible now), otherwise it is as it left the factory. I want £500
for the chassis.

I have been told by a reliable person that the club has 40 chassis(80") on
order.The person who makes them uses jigs and drawings paid for by the club.

80" chassis drawings

Hi All,

There is someone in my town who wants to attempt to manufacture the 80"
chassis.

I need to get the chassis specs and dimention drawings from which he can
have the parts drawn in cad and lasercut for manufacture.

If anyone has these drawings in electronic format or even better a cad
format, please contact me!

Paul,

Some vehicles have a piece of webbing bolted under the seat box on the left hand side to carry load from the base of the storage compartment to the chassis – see if you have holes in the box to match the webbing?

The pipe should run outside the shield and the axle strap inside – the shield is to protect the pipe from the strap not from anything else!

You are correct about the longer shackles being at the rear (I found that I had left one set on my spare chassis!)

The webbing is only a short piece and has two holes in it the same distance apart as the holes for where the bolts for the dash reinforcement go through the chassis.

One other question - when fitting the brake line along the rear axle, does the brake line go between the axle and the shield (232089 shield for brake pipe ) or outside the shield?

If the webbing you have is a long strap (or the remains thereof) it was

a rear axle check strap.  You need one per side.  They limit the maximum

axle movement and prevent the shocks from over-extending.
