Hi guys !

I'm Luc MOUTON from Belgium, member of the LRSOC.

I'm restoring a 1953 (?) LRSO LHD, coming from the Belgian National Police (the former "Gendarmerie")
I started my complete restoration in 2007 and it will be finished in august 2009.
Pictures are available in an album.

Try :  Restoration Land Rover2007-2008

I have a similar problem with the numbers as our friend Chris here.

I'm not sure about my official Chassis Number.
Belgian Police possibly sold the truck with a wrong Number, even possibly from a Minerva
- Minerva is a CKD-Nr.
- 3663 is a CKD-Nr
- The same Belgian Police bought later a lot of Minervas, coming from the Belgian Army, and made in MORTSEL (Belgium)

I own a certificate from the man who bought it from the police, and wrote he stamped (drove in ?)this Nr in the truck, which Number he received from the Belgian Ministry of Finance

My official Chassis Nr = 3663 1594
So I think this is a ChassisNr for a Minerva
(Belgian National Police = Rijkswacht = Gendarmerie owed also Minerva's !

But the Motor Nr =    2613 0154
GearboxNr         =     3613 2983
The dates in the wheels are  : three times 10/52 , one time 9/52 with number 231601 (see pictures)

Is it possible to do further research for the Chassis Nr with these other numbers ?

I can send you also scanned copies of these 2 documents about this story, which proves they gave Chassis Nrs with sold trucks,

An other great point is that these LRSO's were delivered in 1952 by the then Belgian LR-importer : "Les établissements PILETTE"
When you consult the site  :

http://www.lrfaq.org/Series/FAQ.S.chassis_numbering.2613.html

(Belgian " Piletta import"  must be : Ets. Pilette SA, Bruxelles), You can verify !

They can never deliver a Chassis starting by '53' in 1951 ?

How to solve my historic problem ?

Greetz,

Luc

That engine is not the original which would be numbered 0610... or 0611... but someone on the forum may know what it came from? Possibly a later 86/88 or 107/109 engine???

Hi my engine has the number 111805463 stamped on it, and the cast manifold has 212192 staped on it. I can't seem to find on the net what series engine it is. I am trying to work out if it is the original type of engine for my 1950 series landrover. My Landrover serial no. is R06111357

Cheers Chris.
