Not your fault - & a bit of humour is a lovely thing.

How many of us have laughed at the storey of the exam where the instructions read "read everything to the end before answering any questions" and most of the students did not, only to find that at the end of the paper is stated - words to the effect of - "do NOT answer any questions, put your paper down quietly and leave the room".

Ike (and everybody else who has contacted me!)

MY JOKE BACKFIRED - Apologies!

Look further down the email and you will see I was pulling your leg (having a joke). Maybe my British humour doesn't translate internationally, but I did it as every time I have had parts re-produced someone turns up with a bunch of originals. It happened when I made bulkheads 20 years ago, 86/107 panels for turn switches, bakelite turn knobs for indicators and a couple of other bits.

Lesson learned - I'll keep quiet from now on!

Too funny, where were you when we were talking about making them.  If you get a chance, please send me a picture.

Is that what they look like! I've got 20 brand new ones of these that I bought in a job lot at an autojumble a few years back and didn't know what they were - until now.

Sorry Ike - I know it's not April 1st but I couldn't resist! Every time I have had a part re-made some bright spark turns up with originals.

Good job done!

Hello,
For those of you who inquired, I have completed the reproduction of the series one export market license plate/plate lamp mounts.  These were used on 48-58 series one 80/86/88/107/109 regular and wagon models.  Most commonly in the North American (NADA) and Australian markets but frequently other export markets as well.  The part number is 302298.  I have made a couple dozen of these for use on my own vehicles as well as a couple restorations.  I also have several available for purchase.  They are CNC laser cut, formed and tig welded to original dimensions.  You can view photos of the part as well as the corresponding page from the parts catalogue at:
